Week 6 - Match Play

It's been just over a year, but we're finally returning to Waterlefe.

10am on July 9th... $35+ tax.

It's the best layout in the surrounding Tampa Bay area, and great for Match Play. Last year only two players were in red figures.

We have 20 spots reserved, so update your RSVP. Katie... ask Greg if he's available.

Match-ups will be finalized on Monday.

Perfect. Give me his info tonight and I'll contact him later.

I could have only made it if we played super early and near my house so I'm out.

I call bullshit on "great layout." You only say that because you play well there. That's like Gorecki saying Buffalo Creek has a great layout.

Five league events have been held at Waterlefe. Chandler has won 3 of them and came in 2nd once. Rigged system!

SAD!

I like Waterlefe and I havne't played particularly well there. The holes that go along the river are cool and even the canals within the property are nice enough. It's a nice course, and one of my favorites.

Haha yeah I know it sounds like I'm biased. I've had some good blow-ups there, especially out of season. But seriously the entire back nine is GREAT running along the river!

Nothing is eye pleasing about Buffalo Creek!

I love Waterlefe too and I always play like shit there. Too bad I can't make it. I love the course and I love match play.

I'm out for the 9th. Apparently my wife is going to NY, so I'm on kid duty.

Oh, perfect course for me to test out this new swing I learned from my first golf lesson ever today..not..seems like real bad timing to do that after shooting a personal best 89 at Southern Hills this past weekend, but gotta #PracticeBetter #PlayBetter

Who gave you a lesson?

Change your RSVP, Geoff. Making a comment doesn't count and can lead toward a "Gorecki"

Never played water leaf.... How many holes have water to the right off the tee that my driver will fade into?

Chandler said...

Just about all of them. But they also almost all have water left as well.

Fairways are wide though. It's not "unfair".

Going to start taking some lessons with Paul Meyer up at Heritage Isles. He took over for Bradshaw, the guy Faz was using (I think), but Bradshaw passed away last year.

First words out of his mouth.."I normally hate to change someone's grip on the first lesson, but we have to change yours. That's weak."

After implementing just a few things he had me do, it's crazy to see how different a golf swing is supposed to be compared to what one as doing lol.

what *I was doing lol

Reid and I also took some lessons with Bradshaw. Actually... Bradshaw owes me a 9-hole playing lesson... but I don't foresee him showing up Bagger Vance style and helping me out. Nice guy though. Shame to lose him.

Hope the lessons help!
