Summer 2018 - Tournament Registration

Registration for next season is open. Use the link at the top right of the blog to fill it out. Keep it up to date whenever your availability changes.

---------------

Rapture qualification (World Rankings) lock after week 3 (DPT Open). At that point I'll start collecting money from those that qualified, and the top alternates if needed.

I'm assuming we're going to get 16 players... if Casey can figure out his deal for that weekend.

With 16 players, everyone will owe me $135, which includes the $50 prize pool fee and house rentals.

Golf will be paid individually at each course. Currently we're scheduled to play Friday and Saturday at 9:30am at the Mission Inn courses ($35/$45). The Sunday course is still being considered.

League Updates

Nine events this past season... TEN different winners. We will never see that again. Ever.

Congrats again to Darren. Well deserved season victory. Bring The Cup to work and I'll get it engraved for you.

----------------------------

Long off-season, during which time we'll have our first ever Board meeting to vote on new members. Ben and Danny are eligible. We'll do a quick league confirmation vote online after that (if applicable). I haven't found a good cheap Masonic voting box... yet.

----------------------------

The race for the Rapture became anti-climatic since it's now a "who will have enough events (10) to qualify" situation.

Only Buchert is in danger of falling off the list if he misses any of the first three weeks. The rest will have enough, so points no longer matter for you people. MikeHo will make the list as long as he plays once in the next three tournaments.

As a reminder, the dates are August 17 to 19 at Mission Inn and one other course I still need to book. M.I. is supposed to be amazing according to the "experts." If we don't have 16 people qualify, the alternates will be determined by the following tie-breakers:

- # of events played during the qualification period
- Average points earned per event in that time-frame
- Perceived pace-of-play
- Looks
- Bribes

Robbie is allegedly still OUT, so swimming in the pool of dudes who could potentially get us to 16 people are: Greg, Danny, and Ben. Due to the size of the rental houses, we can't take more than 16 this year.

As for captains, most of the points dropping off in the next three events belong to Troy (he was kicking our ass this time last year). Gary is also losing a bunch of points, so I don't see him finishing in the top two.

Casey and Darren seem like the best bets unless someone goes crazy and wins two of the next three.

Should be fun. But for now... enjoy the time off. Summer season starts June 3rd.

DPT Masters - Updates

We canceled the fourth tee time for Sunday. Right now we have 12 people committed.

First tee time is 10:07am on Rolling Oaks. Bring your rain check voucher if you got one last week, otherwise it will be $49.

There’s another chance of afternoon storms but I don’t think it’s supposed to be anything like what came through last week.

Group 1
Darren
Faz
John
JW

Group 2
Dave
Casey
Ho
Ben

Group 3
Gary
Gorecki
Crum
Crum Guest

As for the leaderboard app, JW is going to set it up.

DPT Masters 2.0

This is who we have confirmed in so far with a few maybes.

League - In
Darren
Gary
John
Ho
Dave
Faz
Casey
Gorecki
JW

Guest - In
Ben
Crum

So that’s 9 people definitely in with one maybe. I have a guest that will most likely join us. Looks like we’ll have some room for other guests so start reaching out and make comments if you have people confirmed as in.

John was able to secure 16 tee times on Rolling Oaks next Sunday, 4/22, starting at 9:59am. Same price and some of us grabbed rain check vouchers for a few bucks. Comment on here if you're able to play next week. The 11 league members that were there today have first dibs. I think I heard a few league guys saying they can't make it next week so comment if you can't play as well.

Sucks for the guys playing well but the only fair thing to do, in my opinion, is to scrap the entire day like it never happened, including official greenies and long drives.

World Woods Scorecard

Initial pairings are up on the event page. Below is the scorecard:

Dave, Greg, JW and Ben have been moved back to the Green tees. If anyone else wants to move back, tell me immediately.

Right now we have 13 people. Tall Mike is a game-time decision due to a baby. Gorecki is also somehow still a "maybe."

Around 5pm on Wednesday I'll set up the leader board. After that time, any changes probably won't happen.

Faz is in charge of collecting money and payments. I'll have Gary pre-pay me, which will go toward the league rake ($20). The rest of the pot should come from everyone else.

Get yourself off the deadbeat list.

Memorial - Spring 2018 Recap

Casey dominated Countryway, winning his 3rd ever event and somewhat salvaging a terrible season. His three birdies on the day were quite impressive... but it was his double-par on the final hole that saved him from buying a pitcher... and also lost him a $60 side bet with Brendan. Totally worth it.

Congrats. You now have a dirty diaper holder.
Gary was the only other player under par... and the rest of you kinda sucked. Countryway is way more difficult than it looks, exposing any short game mistakes. But it's still the perfect place to play on Masters Sunday. We were all home with plenty of time to watch the final groups, and continue our weekend recovery.

-----------------------------

Darren has officially won the Spring 2018 season. It's his 2nd DPT Cup, and it wasn't even close. Congrats to The Barron, who was the best at Drive, Putt & Tacos.

-----------------------------

Our final week... which only matters for money, pride and World Ranking points... is at World Woods at 10am. We're playing Rolling Oaks, and the rate is $49+ (down from $79+). Be sure they don't charge you anything higher.

I'll be out of town, so Faz is in charge of collecting money, paying winners, and taking a photo of Darren with the Cup. I'll need to know greenies etc for each group, and I'll just use the leader board app for data entry when I return. So make sure the leader board is correct. Gary's group had yet another discrepancy at Countyway between the scorecard and leader board.

Tall Mike and Gorecki need to update their RSVP... ASAP.

-----------------------------

The deadbeat list is longer than ever. While it's a good tool to track how much money Gorecki owes everyone, it'll quickly get out of hand if you people don't start bringing cash. Get your name off the list!

2018 Spring - Memorial

This Sunday, 9:40am, $18.

Countryway does not have a range. Probably doesn't have much grass either.

Everyone is on the tips (Blue) and Katie has requested to move back to the Whites.

Gary's house afterward if you don't want to watch The Masters alone. Bring your WAGs and kids if you want.
