So I played both courses at OCN in late 2015. Big John, Reid and Darren played as well. I don't remember either of the courses, so despite allegedly being in great shape... the layout might be mediocre. I do remember the practice facility, clubhouse, and sketchy motel they have on property. We might do a Rapture out there later if the price is right.
Anyway... a few tee choices this week:
Here are the minimum handicap adjustments based on the Course Ratings:
Orange - +5
Green - +3
White - 0
So if you decide to move from white to green, you gain AT LEAST 3 strokes. Call out where you want to play before Saturday.
We're reversing our normal order this week, with the champion group last. Be sure to get to the course no later than 8:15am.

ReplyDeleteYeah my problem with the Back Tees, Dan... is that it could be a Southern Hills situation where they don't even set them up anymore outside of pro events. So, if you really want to play it over the Orange (15 handicap instead of 13 for you), let me know. But if we get there and there are no tee markers then you're losing those two bonus strokes.
Also, I can't imagine those two strokes are worth it.
I was curious what the stroke difference would end up being. Only two strokes probably isn't worth it. Put me down for the Orange tees.
ReplyDeleteYeah... +7 bonus off the whites, so only two more from the Orange. And the slope isn't high enough for your baller handicap to give any more than that extra two. Orange it is!

Hotel is closed down but plenty of condos around here ive been staying in that im sure would work a deal should we decide to do a rapture here.
Range balls are included and I believe you'll get a gift certificate to use in their ridiculously large pro shop. HOLD ON TO YOUR RECEIPT and they check it multiple times to give you balls a the range (theres a tent set up there) and then the starter checks it and writes down your receipt number. OCN runs a tight ship!
