The actual hotel is at the beach in Sarasota, about 20 minutes further away. If you go there, you might as well just stay there and skip golf.
Everyone is on the WHITE tees unless they tell me otherwise. If you're thinking of moving back, I'd recommend the MEMBER which is a blend of BLUE and WHITE.
This is also the last we we will not be paired by standings. One of the many reasons we are capping our membership at 24 people is due to the full hour between the first and last groups. Longer if certain players don't speed up their pre-shot routine. Keep up with the group in front of you.

ReplyDeleteI'd be up for playing out there as well. And I LOVE the idea of shotgun starts for a tourney. I've requested this at a few courses but the responses have been our group would need to tee off at an earlier tee time. Might be worth trying sometime though.. temps (somewhat) cooler in the morning and everyone (should) finish around the same time and we can all be in the clubhouse drinking. With 6 tee times on Sunday first group will be in the clubhouse an hour before last group arrives. Anyways, a topic to be discussed and debated more about at a later time I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteNow on to this week's course, The Ritz-Carlton Members Club... The Assistant (to the) Golf Pro has been very accommodating and great to work with. He's providing personalized scorecards and cart signs will be on all player's carts. He also informed the Grille of our party size so they'll be staffing it accordingly.
He's also offered to provide "Closest to Pin" stakes and suggested they be put on the shortest and longest of the Par 3's (holes #7 & #16). Chandler's been approached about this before from other courses but has declined as he has enough tasks as he "herds us cats". So I offered to handle this and wanted to see how many guys would be interested in a side pot? I'm thinking $5 entry per person so $2.50 prize per hole per entry for the winner(s). I'll collect before the round begins and distribute at clubhouse after. Golf Pro's request is our last group pick up the stakes so if Faz or Ben in Group F want in then if they can grab these and bring to clubhouse I'll see who the winners are and will return the stakes to the Golf Pro.
Post on here if you'd like to participate and bring an extra $5 cash with you on Sunday (cough Geoff).
Looking forward to this facility and recently learned that their "preferred rate" they offer guests to play is $250 for a round!
Gorecki, you should get elected to the Board before deciding we should try teeing off at 7:30am shotguns.

ReplyDeleteAny kind of decorum we need to worry about in the clubhouse/grill room? Just a general wear your shirts tucked in and be on good behavior?
Now he's telling me the reason he and his dad couldn't be in the last group, was so he could finish earlier and hang out for a bit enjoying the amenities. So basically taking amenity time away from anyone behind him who might have somewhere else to be after the round. Because, as the motto on his family's Coat of Arms states: "All for Gorecki, Fuck Everyone Else."
ReplyDeleteSo let's remind him, and everyone else, that we are way too large for any of you to "hand pick" your groups or tee times. Just as John doesn't get to skip to the front last week because he wants to. If I throw you a bone and move your group up because you have somewhere to be... you'd better get going after the round.
To JW's question: nothing special. It's technically a normal resort course, not an exclusive private club. They work for us.

ReplyDeleteThat's about 95% accurate. You had Tall Mike in your group but he bailed, so that's why you have a threesome now.
ReplyDeleteHOWEVER... despite the 10+ texts I got on the subject last week, I refused to put Gorecki in front of the two original threesomes. I also refused to put him and his dad in a threesome, since that would require ONE league member (not me) watching two of the slowest golfers in history, who have a well documented record of counting incorrectly.
Didn't seem fair to the field to grant all these "special needs."
So as we left it, he was fine going out 3rd in a foursome... and now he's telling me he'll sit around the clubhouse eating food, drinking beers, and running a pin contest.

ReplyDeleteBecause if he’s in the last group, he allegedly won’t have time to hang out. So the only way for Gorecki to spend time in a clubhouse is to go out before everyone else.
ReplyDeleteHe literally wants to pick when he goes out, pushing everyone back, just so he can sit in a clubhouse after the round, until at least the final group comes in. Which he technically HAS to wait on to pay out a closest to pin contest. It’s shady, selfish, and complete bullshit. We all have places to be. We all want to get done sooner than later. But in Gorecki World... you don’t matter.

ReplyDeleteWhile there's some obvious good to come out of these recent events, we shouldn't allow ourselves to forget the following things:
ReplyDelete- Kim Jong-un fed family members to starved dogs, and strapped musicians to anti-aircraft guns, blowing them up while 10,000 people were forced to watch.
- Gorecki blasted an Australian man in the face with a golf ball exactly one year ago on Saturday.
We still have a lot of progress to make before we celebrate any victories.
