Danny in particular, was 6-under-par (net) after 10 holes... and finished +12. JW was bucking his head, threatening to end his winless drought, and then shot +10 (gross) on a four hole stretch starting on the ninth. Big John set a record with +29 net, one stroke away from our first ever TRIPLE PITCHER.
When the dust settled, even par was all you needed to win. Reid's 39 on the back was impressive to watch, earning him back-to-back victories on Tour. He now controls his own destiny with a very large lead in the DPT Cup standings.
While many people have been mathematically eligible to win a season late in the schedule, only two guys — Reid and Dave — have had it ripped from their hands in the final event. It'll be interesting to see if Reid can hang on.

ReplyDeleteHow does John shoot 29 over par and move up 3 places on World Golf Rankings? Gorecki is #1? Does this ranking system need to be reviewed?
ReplyDeleteGorecki becoming #1 triggered an automatic review from World Golf Rankings smartest minds. It's unfortunately correct, as in the last rolling 18 league events, Gorecki has TWO 1st place finishes, TWO 2nd place finishes, and TWO 3rd place finishes. Some of those will drop off before rankings lock for the Rapture, so we'll see if he can maintain the position. But right NOW... he's number one.
ReplyDeleteAs for John... the rankings only keep your BEST ten finishes. So his +29 doesn't do anything. His moving up is more because Katie and Tall Mike dropped off some good finishes and moved down. And someone else ejected from the standings completely due to less than 10 rounds recorded in last 18.
