As some of you might remember, our first event for next season was scheduled for April 26th. While most courses are still "open," we're not going to conduct official Club activities until our local government determines it's "safe" to do so.
Whenever that happens, we'll have our Board meeting and the schedule will be updated and posted. I'm sure this will bleed into the Fall, so don't count on us finishing before football season.
The Rapture will probably also be moved to Tampa/Orlando. Something close by and affordable, just because I'm not realistically going to have the time to properly plan and book us lodging.
So if you have ANY rules or policies you'd like the Board to discuss, post them here.
A rule for the Board to discuss: Tie-Breaker Method for events, for example, the Countback method. Ties are separated by the best score over the final nine holes of the course's scorecard, just in case, it's a shotgun start.

Matching Scorecards (Also Known as a Scorecard Count-Back)
If a play-off is not feasible or desired, the Terms of the Competition may specify that any ties will be decided by matching scorecards. Even when the winner of a competition is to be decided by a play-off, other positions in the competition may be decided by matching scorecards. The method of matching scorecards should also provide for what will happen if this procedure does not produce a winner.
One method of matching scorecards is to determine the winner based on the best score for the last round. If the tying players have the same score for the last round or if the competition consisted of a single round, determine the winner based on the score for the last nine holes, last six holes, last three holes and finally the 18th hole. If there is still a tie, then the last six holes, three holes and the final hole of the first nine holes will be considered in turn. If the round is less than 18 holes, the number of holes used in matching scores may be adjusted.
If this process does not result in a winner, the Committee could consider the competition a tie, or alternatively could decide the winner by chance (such as tossing a coin).
Matching scorecards are also known as a card count-back or a scorecard play-off.

And then Melberg has enough rounds with us to join... if he’s officially asking to. Let’s get those things confirmed before our meeting too.

ReplyDeleteCard countback of net scores from the most difficult to least difficult holes by course rating.
Playoff at the next tournament the tied players all play in. Logistical bitch, and really tough for the final event of the season, but at least they get to play to see who wins. Sudden death between the tied players.

My schedule was just very full this past season but I’m still committed and also still playing golf. Just haven’t been able to make it! Please take into consideration. Thank you commissioner Brown.

If a "most wanted golf cooler" review doesn't exist... then that seems to be in the BGR wheelhouse. Perhaps they could request coolers from different companies for their review. Companies (before the 'Rona) would frequently send goods to bloggers. And the BGR is an influencer of sorts.
