I'm working on getting GolfGameBook to update the hole-by-hole handicaps on a couple of courses. Keep in mind if you're running the app, the actual scores in the Rapture do not matter. Use the hole-by-hole handicaps on the physical scorecard, and just make sure the correct team wins each hole.

Some observations. The sports book expects Team Dave to blow out Team Troy. They are giving Ho and his 5.2 index absolutely no respect. There was a significant change in the odds after the “old man house” was announced. Apparently, a good amount of money was placed on all four members as they are expected to be better hydrated and rested.
Love the effort here. If only I knew how odds worked. I don’t even know if negative or positive is better. And no, I won’t bother googling it.

ReplyDeleteI always said if we were going to repeat a Rapture venue, it would be Sebring. But Jesus apparently had other plans... all revolving around his hatred for the Ft. Myers/Punta Gorda/North Port area.

Chapman
Candler Hills is wide open and short. Advantage bad golfers. But it's also — rightfully — rated pretty damn easy. So those same bad golfers might be down a stroke or two.
In 2017, Chandler/Buchert steamrolled Darren/Katie 4&3 despite giving them 8 strokes. Brendan/Ho gave 10 strokes to JW/Gorecki, and won 2&1. I'll take Orange up 3-1 after the first day, with only Faz/Reid winning a point for Green
Four-Ball
Juliet Falls is a tough course. Long, with some trees that'll come into play. Five years ago, the teams loaded up on strokes mainly prevailed — which I guess implies the challenging layout made it difficult for better players to overcome the handicaps. I'm guessing we split 2-2 on Saturday... Chandler/Geoff and Ho/Darren winning points for Orange.
Singles
Skyview is rated only slightly easier than Black Diamond... and the conditions (especially the rough) are "worse." Not bad... just punishing. Dave waxed Gorecki 4&3 in 2017 despite giving 17 strokes. Same should happen this year in his match vs. Danny. That's my only "Lock of the Week." But here are some selections:
