I spent all evening celebrating Dave's season victory... so the recap will be later this week.
More importantly:
Reid — who was going to be a Captain — bailed on the Rapture today. So the decision was made to drop to the following 12:
Faz
Troy
Brendan
Chandler
Melberg
Dave
Dave
Topor
Moostie
Gorecki
Geoff
Gary
Casey
Captains are now Faz and Troy.
Everyone not highlighted owes me $290.
That totally ruins Fazioli’s mock draft… lol
ReplyDeleteBut it does eliminate four people he was afraid to select!
ReplyDeleteI can bring ribs and Mac salad to draft at mikes if people prefer that.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds good.
ReplyDeleteI'm addressing the recent news regarding my absence from the upcoming Rapture event. As it has come to your attention, I, Reid, who was set to be a Captain for the first time at this event, decided to withdraw at the last minute.
ReplyDeleteI deeply value the camaraderie and commitment of being a part of our league, and it is not a decision taken lightly. However, there are times when family obligations must take precedence. In this instance, I have a commitment that could not be rearranged or rescheduled and family responsibilities that require my attention.
A good Reporter would have written, "We understand that such situations can arise unexpectedly, and we appreciate Reid's dedication in notifying us as soon as possible. It's worth noting that Reid was also informed on Wednesday about the conflicting events on the same weekend as the Rapture golf outing, which further complicated the situation."
I want to apologize to the league for any inconvenience caused by this late notice. I appreciate your understanding and flexibility.
I do not owe Troy $2. That was paid weeks ago. That is all.
ReplyDeletePretty sure Reid had ChatGPT write that comment. Which I fully support.
ReplyDeleteYou know me too well, my friend.
ReplyDeleteBut this good reporter knows that AI has a long way to go, and is filled with misinformation and erroneous outputs.
ReplyDeleteWe can see that with "notifying us as soon as possible" and "Reid was also informed on Wednesday about the conflicting events" equating to a 96+ hour lag in notification... which included 4 hours and 10 minutes of being in the same group as the organizer.
Here's hoping that as technology improves... AI's apology function escapes Uncanny Valley and becomes more realistic.
Can we have AI do the draft?
ReplyDeleteAlways kinda assumed you were AI
ReplyDeleteWas that joke written by AI?
ReplyDeleteSo many wows
ReplyDeleteHello Chandler,
ReplyDeleteYour insights on AI are important and thought-provoking. AI indeed has made significant strides, but it still grapples with imperfections, misinformation, and occasional erroneous outputs. The points you've raised regarding the delay in notification are valid and demonstrate the existing limitations of current AI capabilities.
The disparity between the phrase "notifying us as soon as possible" and the actual timing of the notification emphasizes the need for further advancements in AI's understanding and context interpretation. It's evident that there's room for improvement, particularly in enhancing the realism and timeliness of AI-generated responses.
As technology continues to progress, we can anticipate advancements that will refine AI's ability to navigate the nuances of language, context, and timeliness. The aspiration is for AI's apology function to evolve beyond the Uncanny Valley, offering more authentic and timely interactions. Your hope for future improvements aligns with the collective vision of making AI a more seamless and reliable tool.
Thank you for sharing your perspective on this matter.
Best regards,
So all stupidity is blamed on AI now?

Interesting. Doesn't look like the AI did the snake draft correctly after Troy's first two picks. It seems to go back and forth after that.
ReplyDeleteAlso... if Troy picks Gary with one of his first two picks... his team is definitely going 4-8.
My picks
ReplyDeleteDave
Chandler
Geoff/Brendan
Moostie/Casey
Gorecki/Topor
I prefer our favorite match play commentator Russian bot to this AI nonsense.
